Our Policy on Court Involvement
⬥ My Policy on Court Involvement:
I do not provide evaluative opinions or recommendations regarding custody, parenting time, or legal decision-making.
I do not testify in court or attend court proceedings, depositions, or mediations.
I will not communicate with attorneys, GALs, CFIs, or other court professionals beyond what is required to confirm treatment status or provide a general summary of care.
I am not trained or designated as a court-ordered therapist, reunification therapist, parenting coordinator, or co-parenting therapist.
⬥ What I can provide:
A summary of care outlining general treatment progress, goals, and presenting concerns (as appropriate under HIPAA and with a signed Release of Information).
Verification of treatment attendance.
A support letter only when clinically appropriate and clearly labeled as such—not for legal or evaluative purposes.
There are therapists who specialize in this area of support.
